Work methodology
What will your psychotherapy sessions consist of?
01
Clinic history
The reason for consultation, psychopathological history (previous diagnosis, medication, previous treatments) and expectations about the intervention will be analyzed. Specific objectives will be established for an adequate therapeutic approach, as well as the frequency of the sessions (normally weekly, although it can be established biweekly depending on the clinical profile and availability of the person).
03
Assessment
Through reflection and dialogue, a bond will be built that will allow you to express your emotions, define your needs and chart the path to your well-being. Techniques based on evidence (that is, those that have been shown to be effective) will also be applied to modify harmful patterns or patterns that prevent you from moving forward, respecting your preferences and pace.
02
Intervention
During several sessions, the significant events in your life will be explored, those that "have marked you", your most significant social relationships and family environment, with the aim of understanding your current situation and personal perspective. If necessary and/or requested, scaled tests can be administered (consult service).
04
Follow-up
Once the therapeutic objectives have been achieved, the focus will be on maintaining emotional well-being in the medium-long term. The frequency of sessions will be increased (biweekly, monthly), with the possibility of modifying it depending on the situation. It has been shown in multiple studies that a gradual closure is much more effective for maintaining objectives, after a favorable therapeutic evolution.
